7Story Begins Mural for Marin Wellness Campus

Here is just a taste of the vibrant design we’re putting up on the side of a three-story wellness building! Click to see the whole wall. With its images of wellness from diverse cultures, it is no wonder the Marin Arts Council selected this design from 7Story visual artist Elly Simmons for the public art mural at the new Marin Health & Wellness Campus in San Rafael. Nationally renowned, Elly was selected from a national competition.

Elly’s design is perfect for this LEED-certified campus, which serves many Latino and Vietnamese families. The space is designed to bring together local residents, businesses and government in the spirit of cooperation, innovation and neighborhood revitalization. The mural features cross-cultural symbols, three-dimensional shapes and recycled bicycle wheels that turn in the wind. All materials are environmentally-sustainable, with emphasis on adapting found objects.
